Our Property

Over 700 Acres of fun to explore!

We are located on a beautiful 740-acre wooded property in coastal Southern Connecticut. At the heart of our campus lies a pristine, spring-fed, 1.3-mile private freshwater lake, encircled by hiking trails that offer sweeping views of the surrounding landscape.

Steward students have access to the full property and trail system throughout the entire school year. They investigate and explore the woods, wetlands, and shoreline during dedicated lessons and also enjoy time outdoors for free exploration and play.

The land offers diverse habitats for discovery and investigation. Students observe wood frogs and macroinvertebrates in quiet ponds, explore a rare cedar swamp rich with native plants and wildlife, and wade through clean streams that wind beneath tall, magnificent trees. Wildflowers and ferns fill the forest floor. Along the lake, students fish, swim, boat, and kayak, gaining both skill and confidence in a natural setting.
